Okay, i have a Wal-Mart "mountain bike" and i am wanting to started going a whole lot more. But i am concerned that my bike won’t be extremely durable or safe for such things. My brakes seem to have problems with stopped me and i don’t like feeling like my chain might pop off (i had a bike that did that once). What are somethings i could do to and with it to make it more durable and safer for moutnain terrain and biking?

I’m a high school student, and I absolutely LOVE bike riding. I’m looking to buy a nice, good-quality bike but I’m not too well-informed on bicycle qualities, brands, and specifications. (weight, material, size, durability, speed ability, age, etc).
I usually ride on paved-trails (waterfronttrail.org), and occasionally gravel or dirt paths. And I really enjoy long bike rides (went for a 10 hour ride last Sunday, woohoo!). Which bike would be appropriate for me? Why? And what do you think of the prices?? …

The only bikes I’ve ever got on were cheap Chinese bicycles, how is it like to ride a 0 dollar mountain bike. Do you get tired when pedaling, how far will you get with in a few pedals. How about going up hills?

I recently decided to dig out my old mountain bike from the garage and want to go out trail riding again. Its a raleigh m80 mountain bike that i bought for like 0 a while back. My first concern was the size because its a medium bike and ive grown quite a bit, but i think its should be fine. I got a new bike chain because the old one broke, also the tires look real small and one of them wont even stay inflated, should i get new tires and if so what?
Hey all, I go biking at Glen Tress fairly regularly these days and I’m needing a new pair of shoes for the bike. I have decent pedals, pretty strong and very grippy, the only problem is my feet sometimes come off because I have a crap pair of trainers for biking. I mostly do the rougher stuff but I also occasionally do the Freeride park as well.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I’m looking for in a pair of shoes, particularly the sole. I’m currently using a pair of running shoes (lol) and I think there are too many grooves in the shoes, but I’m not sure. Would a flatter sole be better?
I’m thinking of these:

Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Craig
